Meditation Will Change Your Life

Many people tell me they find it difficult to meditate.

The usual things come up: too many thoughts, hard to sit still, the mind keeps going.

Every single one of those points is focused on the mind.

Yet meditation is not about the mind.

Meditation starts with a feeling.

There are two options: peace or unrest.

And when you enter peace, even for a moment, you begin to hear the thoughts clearly.

That is when you begin to notice the voice inside. The real one.

That is the soul.

When you first sit down, it can feel like 100 voices shouting all at once. That is the ego, doing its best to keep you from hearing what is true.

The ego gets tired fast. The soul waits patiently.

There is an analogy I share often.

If you were walking down the street and a stone got in your shoe, you would stop. You would take it out. No hesitation.

Now imagine you are walking and an anxious thought pops in your head. Most people keep walking. They ignore it. They leave it there.

And the thought stays. It grows.

Eventually it becomes physical - tension, stress, a racing heart. We label it anxiety.

Yet no one ever showed us how to remove the thought.

Meditation teaches you how. As simple as removing that stone from your shoe

It helps you see the thought early. It gives you a moment to choose. To let it go. To keep walking, free again.

When the body is calm, the mind quiets. They work together.

The mind sets the body. Meditation allows the soul to set the mind.

It is a simple awareness. And a clear choice.

My number one advice for transforming your life, no matter what you are going through, is meditate.
